Cardiff Metropolitan University traces its heritage to 1865 with the formation of the Cardiff School of Art.

A Reputation for High Quality Teaching
In its 2014 report on the University, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education affirmed that Cardiff Metropolitan University met UK expectations for academic standards and student learning opportunities. The Higher Education Academy has reflected this endorsement, awarding National Teaching Fellowships to two Cardiff Metropolitan University lecturers.
A Strong Reputation for Student Satisfaction and Experience
In the National Student Satisfaction survey for 2013-14, 86 per cent of our students said they were satisfied with the quality of their course. Seven programmes received 100% satisfaction from their students. The University has also been ranked once again as top in the UK for overall international student support – for the fifth year running in the International Student barometer.
Investors in People – Silver status
Cardiff Metropolitan University has been awarded Investors in People (IiP) Silver accreditation. This achievement acknowledges that the University has been awarded one of the highest levels of accreditation within the IiP framework.
People and Planet University Green League 2015 – awarded ‘First Class Honours’
Cardiff Metropolitan University has been awarded ‘First Class Honours’ and ranked 7th in the list of University Alliance Higher Education Institutions for its approach to sustainability.
