Prof. Inderpal Singh

DIRECTOR - SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Inderpal Singh has been a sales and marketing professional and a successful entrepreneur with more than twenty years of having held leadership roles in reputed organizations like Lotte, Wrigley India, Best Foods International and Heinz. 

He has a passion for training and has also been a successful trainer for soft skills and sales training modules. He has conducted training programs for middle-level managers of reputed FMCG and durables organizations. 

Having completed an MDP in Retail Management at IIM-Ahmedabad and another one in Case Writing and Teaching from ISB, Mohali, he has been using the case study methodology in his training programs and areas of interaction with budding Student Managers.

His passion for mentoring and teaching budding managers led him to hold leadership positions in reputed B-schools in Pune and Mumbai. Inderpal was a part of the founding team at of one of the fastest growing B-Schools in Pune which came to be recognized as one of the best B-Schools in the region and most parts of the country.

He strongly believes in guiding students to become budding managers through making them realize their individual potential and work on their strengths to achieve the best for themselves in their respective career paths.

He has successfully guided young managers and currently mentors quite a few of his prodigies who have reached senior management levels in large organizations.

In his entrepreneurial journey, he has successfully built up a recruitment and training company and has been instrumental in coaching and mentoring some of his students who themselves have built successful entrepreneurial ventures.

Prof. Vijay Tandon

Prof Vijay Tandon is a highly self-driven, dynamic, committed, passionate, creative & a focused individual with more than 17 years of rich, varied, and Insightful experience, which is a combination of Industry, consulting & Academics.

At UBS, Prof. Vijay is delivering in the capacity of a Director for PGDM (NBA Accredited) & International Programs. Prof. Vijay delivers subjects in the space of Marketing, Strategy & Innovation. He is also the patron for the unique company named ELC which is completely a UBS student driven organization, conceptualized under the innovative experiential learning model of UBS.

During his corporate journey he has worked for true Global giants namely - GE, Tyco, and AstraZeneca. At GE which is recognized as one of the most respected companies in the world he has served in both sales and Marketing functions in the capacity of a Marketing Manager and Territory Manager. At Tyco he was responsible for South Asia Region in the capacity of a Product Manager.

To expand his portfolio, he worked as a senior Marketing consultant for Magnus Health Pvt. Ltd. for South Asia region.

Due to his strong passion towards “Transforming lives” rather than Transforming Business by sharing his learnings he later shifted to knowledge Industry. To realize this philosophy, he worked as a visiting faculty at various Business Schools in Mumbai.

Prof. Vijay was invited to University of Economics Varna, Bulgaria a 100-year-old institution for delivering guest lectures for the students and his second invitation from University of Economics was to conduct a FDP. Other than University of Economics he has also represented UBS at Cardiff Metropolitan University, London, UK.

In the space of research Prof. Vijay has five publications in journals of International repute.

Prof. Raj Barai

Faculty - MARKETING MANAGEMENT

A Graduate from Mumbai University who has held Leadership Positions in a variety of Industries namely in Financial Services, Car Rental, Aviation, Corporate Strategy, Learning and Development.

In my 37 years of experience I have been exposed to multiple functions like Sales & Marketing, Channel Distribution, Business Development, Corporate Strategy, New product Development, Corporate Training, Mentoring, Coaching and Consulting. In the last 8 years I have been actively focusing on Training in the Education and Corporate Verticals. As part of Jobs for Youth conducted over 250 ,600 and 550 man days of training in the Year 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively across Banks and NBFCs that include content development, delivery and assessments.

In UBS I will lead the Management development Program Vertical and be responsible for Go to Market Strategy, Content Development, Planning and Delivery.

Prof. Sundar Nataraj

Director – Executive MBA

Prof. Sundar Nataraj | Director – Executive MBA | BSc.; MBA – Sydenham Institute I 30 years work experience with brand leaders like Glodyne, Aptech, VVF, Shaw Wallace, Balsara Hygiene, and Ciba-Geigy & Nestle, International best foods (HUL). Served as Group Head Marketing at Krisoral Group in Nigeria, Kenya & South Africa and Head -Business at Care-Horizzon. Served as visiting Faculty for 19 years.

Prof. Sriram Ramshankar

DIRECTOR – OPERATIONS

A Mechanical Engineering graduate from NIT Surat, followed by an MBA in Marketing from SP Jain, Prof Sriram has held leadership positions in a variety of industries namely Automotive, Engineering, IT Services, Start-ups, Advertising, Broking and Food.

Faculty: Operations Management

In his 18 years of Industry experience, he has been exposed to multiple functions like Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, IT Operations and P&L Management. Plant Manufacturing, IT operations, and Consulting. In the last 8 years he has been running his own Business Consulting firm Tree and Forest Consulting which specializes in advising Entrepreneurs / Family Business in becoming professionally managed Organizations in areas of Organization Development, Culture and Management Systems.

At UBS Prof Sriram is responsible for managing the Operations Management Academic Delivery & Dy. Director International programs. Apart from this, he is also responsible to drive Business Consulting work for the Institute.

He is an outdoor person with a passion for Wildlife conservation.

Dr.Asha Bhatia

DIRECTOR – RESEARCH

Dr. Asha Bhatia is a PhD in Management Studies and an MBA with specialization in Finance and HRM. She has an experience of 23 years in diverse functions, and her competencies include experiential learning, Inclusive higher education, Working with Public Policy institutions and the private sector, Policy Design, Implementation and Advocacy – Social and Economic Development, Brand building, International Relations, Change Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Capacity Building, Stakeholder and Employee Engagement.

Dr. Asha Bhatia comes to UBS from Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), where she has contributed to high quality teaching and research in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Management Perspectives, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Prior to SIMSR, Dr.Bhatia was Deputy Director (Dept. of Rehabilitation and Advocacy) at National Association for Blind (NAB). While at NAB, Dr. Asha administered developed and implemented programs/services for inclusive higher education and expanded programs and services to unlock employment opportunities for the visually impaired job-seeker.

She has published over 20 research papers in peer reviewed journals and has authored a book chapter in “Universal Brotherhood Through Yoga" which was released by the Hon. Vice President of India. She has given numerous presentations in international conferences on topics such as entrepreneurship, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. She has completed 4 funded research projects and received numerous grants. She is the only professor selected from India to the 15-member board of the ENACTUS Global Faculty Research Network, a platform to promote collaborative research, where she will be representing Asia.

Recently she was invited to attend the Global Women Summit held in Chennai and was felicitated as “Distinguished Woman in the Field of Management, 2020”. Additionally, she has won the Unilever Award for “Leadership and Sustainability”. She is a certified trainer in CSR and has conducted management development programs for the Mumbai Police, Indian Navy and many well-known corporate organizations.

With such an illustrious background, Dr.Bhatia is sure to add immense prowess to the research initiatives of UBS
